This afternoon I just read a short notice about the recent Met Gala 2019. I could easily notice from most of the gowns at the gala that they are inspired from beautiful creatures in our nature, from the fully blossomy flowers to the sophisticated play of colors on the fur of forest cats.
The fashion industry gets its inspiration from the nature but at the same time wreaks havoc to it. Sooner or later, all the big cats in the industry will realize the impact of their exploiting the natural habitat without preserving actions.
First is the issue of idea generation, there will be a diminishing source of inspiration due to decreasing number of all animals on the planet.
Second is a lack of input materials which leads to serious fall of supply.
And third, is the dwindling demand as well. Will the future ladies enjoy the idea of wearing a leopard-pattern jacket if they have never ever come to see it by naked eyes?
I believe the fashion industry clearly knows about this. But however clear the fact seems to be, they just ignore and go on without any thoughts for the future generation.
So far, apart from these celebs and Haute couture modes, many brands have changes to be more friendly. As Gap, Forever 21, Stella Mccartney are looking for organic cotton production and sustainable fashion.
